ABOUT HIS/HER LIFE: She was born on May 6 1954. She is married and has older daughter. She lives in the rural area of the Santa Monica, California. Kristine says she raises tadpoles every spring. She has three brother but no sisters, she said in her official website that she had always wanted a sister. In her spare time she likes to paint, read and play golf and tennis. Kristine never thought that she would be a writer until the early 30's. O'Connell George is still writing books at her age of 59. Kristine earned a BS from Colorado State University. She also has a dog named Riley.
ABOUT HIS/HER WORK: Kristine started writing children's poetry in 1989. Her first book was called, " The Great Frog Race" which was published in 1997. She won the Lee Bennett Hopkins/ International Reading Association Promising New Poet Award. Kristine was on PBS kids for story time as a member of Children's Literature Council of Southern California. Kristine O' Connell George studied children's poetry with her friend Myra Livingston until she died in 1996.
